• Oversized jaws: Oversized jaws are uncommon but they do create spaces because they don’t fit properly together with the teeth.

Can gaps in teeth close themselves

As natural growth progresses those gaps in teeth close by themselves, baby teeth gaps are normal, so most of them close over time.

As more baby teeth begin to come through the gums (6-9 months) the front teeth could have a space, the lingual fraenum may be joined to a lower part of the gum.

After about 12 months the lingual fraenum will be shorter.

So more teeth should come through and the gaps should close.
