Teeth in Turkey correspondence

It seems that both parties corresponded over WhatsApp.

The lady owner of the clinic assured Denise that should anything go wrong she would be brought back to the clinic and looked after.

Trip to Turkey for new teeth

In August 2021 Denise took the plunge and booked a flight to the clinic in Turkey for new teeth.

The treatment there was only going to cost €6,000 instead of €20,000 in an Irish clinic.

She had her treatment and returned home.

However, a short few weeks later she began to experience pain in her gums.

Unable to put up any longer with the pain, she contacted the dental clinic in Turkey.

Apparently the advice given for the pain was that there was a hole in her gum.

The clinic explained thst she was not to worry, the hole in the gum would heal.

After a few months things were not any better, the pain was still present.

Denise had made quite a few phone calls to the Turkish dental clinic.

It seems that they relented and offered to bring her back to Turkey that following January.

The clinic actually paid for the flights and hotel costs.

The problem with the hotel was that karoke took place in the bar each night until 5 or 6 am.

Denise said that she was in agony, it didn’t help at all that she got no sleep because of the noise from the karaoke in the hotel.

After she complained they moved her to a different hotel.

The clinic in Turkey completed more work on her gums and teeth.

The clinic sent her home, she must return for a yearly check-up.

After Denise returned home and within a couple of weeks she wasn’t right.

She felt pain in her gums, it turned out that she had an infection.

Denise felt that the infection was spreading across her gums, black spots began to appear.

She again contacted the dental clinic in Turkey and was told to keep taking water, salt and antibiotics.

Her gums were swollen as the clinic examined her mouth in the following month of May.

They discovered black spots inside her teeth, the Turkish dentist suggested that these were caused by her medications.

Denise refuted this suggestion, saying that the black spots could not have been caused by medication as she wasn’t taking any.

Whilst she was in Turkey on this occasion the clinic did loads of work on her teeth.

The clinic stated that all of the treatment was complete and that Denise could return home.

She signed the necessary forms at the clinic and returned home.

A couple of weeks later, the pain had returned, Denise contacted the clinic in Turkey again.

They sent her a letter, in the letter the clinic stated that her treatment was finished and they would no longer be able to help her.

From her point of view, the worst part of the whole episode was the extreme pain she felt.

Denise was extremely disappointed with the service provided by the dental clinic on Turkey.

She admitted that Turkey was the last place on earth that she would go for new teeth or any kind of dental treatment.

Since then, she has had a consultation with another Irish dental clinic.

He said that the infection in the top of her mouth would need to be treated with root canal work.

Unfortunately, he also said that root canal treatment is difficult to do because the crown could crack.

Basically, in the opinion of the Irish clinic the root canal work may not completely work.

If that were the case, she would need to get dental implants, they were going to cost thousands of euros.

Money she did not have.

It meant more expense on top of what she had already spent. ( her life savings).

Denise was left in such a way that she had no clue what to do next.

She had a dream promised and what she got was a nightmare.
