Why get dental crowns

Dental crowns, also known as dental caps, are recommended for a variety of reasons to restore and enhance the appearance and functionality of damaged or weakened teeth.

Let me explain why you should thing about getting dental crowns and why they are so beneficial:

1. Protection and Restoration:

Dental crowns are typically used to repair teeth that have suffered significant decay, fracture, or structural damage.

They act as a protective cap that covers the entire tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and function.

Crowns help preserve the remaining healthy tooth structure, preventing further damage and potential tooth loss.

2. Aesthetic Improvement:

Crowns can significantly enhance the appearance of your smile.

They are custom-made to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth, resulting in a seamless and natural-looking smile.

If you have teeth that are severely stained, misshapen, or have large fillings, crowns can provide a much-needed aesthetic improvement.

3. Support for Dental Bridges:

Dental crowns play a crucial role in supporting dental bridges. When a tooth is missing, a bridge is used to fill the gap.

Crowns are placed on the neighboring teeth to anchor the bridge, providing stability and functionality.

This allows you to chew and speak properly, while maintaining the alignment and integrity of surrounding teeth.

4. Protection after Root Canal Treatment:

Following root canal therapy, the treated tooth becomes more fragile and vulnerable to fractures.

A dental crown is often recommended in these cases to strengthen the tooth and protect it from further damage.

The crown acts as a cap, providing an extra layer of defense and increasing the longevity of the treated tooth.

5. Long-term Durability:

Dental crowns are designed to be durable and long-lasting. They are typically made from materials such as porcelain, metal, or a combination of both.

These materials offer strength and resilience, allowing the crown to withstand the forces of biting and chewing.

With proper care and maintenance, dental crowns can last for many years, providing you with a reliable dental solution.

It is essential to consult with our qualified Hungarian dentist in Wexford to determine if dental crowns are suitable for your specific dental condition.

They can assess your oral health, discuss the available options, and guide you towards making an informed decision that best fits your needs.

Why get dental implants

Dental implants have become a widely recognized and beneficial solution for individuals with missing teeth, a dental implant is a superior option for replacing a missing tooth.

They offer numerous advantages over bridges or crowns, let’s find out more

First and foremost, dental implants provide a long-lasting and durable solution for tooth loss.

They are designed to fuse with the jawbone, providing a stable anchor for artificial teeth or dental crowns.

This integration ensures that implants function and feel almost identical to natural teeth, enabling individuals to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Key benefits of dental implants

Another key benefit of dental implants is their ability to preserve oral health. When a tooth is missing, the underlying jawbone gradually deteriorates if left untreated.

Dental implants stimulate the bone, preventing its deterioration and preserving its natural shape.

This not only contributes to maintaining a youthful facial structure but also helps promote overall oral health.

Aesthetics

Furthermore, dental implants offer exceptional aesthetics. Unlike other tooth replacement options, implants are designed to closely resemble natural teeth, both in appearance and functionality.

The artificial teeth or crowns attached to implants are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of the surrounding teeth, creating a seamless and natural-looking smile.

Comfort and convenience

Moreover, dental implants provide unmatched comfort and convenience. Unlike removable dentures which can slip or cause discomfort while eating or speaking,

implants are securely fixed in place, eliminating any concerns about movement or inconvenience.

Individuals can enjoy their favorite foods without restrictions and confidently engage in social activities without worrying about their teeth.

Promote oral hygiene

Additionally, dental implants promote oral hygiene. Unlike traditional bridges that require adjacent teeth to be shaved down for support, implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for stability.

This preserves the integrity of existing teeth, making it easier to maintain oral hygiene practices such as brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.

High success rate

Lastly, dental implants have proven to have a high success rate and longevity. With proper care and maintenance, implants can last a lifetime, making them a cost-effective solution in the long run.

In comparison, other tooth replacement options may require frequent adjustments or replacements, leading to additional expenses over time.

In conclusion, dental implants offer a multitude of benefits, including durability, preservation of oral health, improved aesthetics, enhanced comfort and convenience, enhanced oral hygiene, and long-term cost-effectiveness.

These advantages make dental implants a preferred choice for individuals seeking a permanent and natural-looking solution for their missing teeth.

  4. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the expenses associated with dental procedures, particularly focusing on crowns and implants, both in Ireland and Hungary.  The article piqued my interest as, although I reside in the United States, I was curious to learn about the cost difference between the two countries, and then compare it with my own dental cost experiences here in the US

It accurately highlights the stark contrast in costs between Ireland and Hungary, demonstrating how seeking treatment in Hungary can lead to major savings – without compromising on quality – while utilizing concrete figures and offering comparisons to serve as a valuable resource for individuals considering dental care options.

While outlining the needs and benefits of dental crowns and/or implants in terms of protection, restoration, aesthetics, and long-term durability, the article also provides an understanding of the significance and potential impact on oral health and quality of life.  There is also an emphasis regarding the importance of making informed choices based on individual needs and circumstances, encouraging readers to weigh factors such as cost, functionality, and long-term maintenance.

I found the article to be extremely informative all the way around, thank you.

    A couple of questions I have…

(1)Did you realize that here in the USA the costs of dental treatment is definitely more expensive than Hungary?

    (2) Do you or have you thought about marketing to other countries besides Ireland (and Hungary)?

    • Hi Scott,

Yes, we know how expensive dental implants are in the USA, however we aren’t set up to time on any more countries, Ireland has been very good for us. So we will keep the status quo.

  5. The cost of dental work astounds me, it definitely pays to have good insurance! This article explains the costs of implants and compares not only the cost but also the procedural differences between implants and crowns. This can be very helpful with some very important dental decisions.

I wish I had the option for a full set of implants, but the costs would be through the roof for a full set upper and lower. I currently have dentures and hate the way they fit, but love the way they look. The dentist who made them did an outstanding job, my teeth are beautiful, I just am required to use some form of adhesive daily.

I have often wondered about the longevity of implants, my dentures can last up to 10 years, what is the life expectancy of the implants?

    Thanks, Stacie
